Description
Tired of making bowls instead of cups? In this beyond beginner class we will focus on how to pull our walls up instead of out, using the force of the wheel to our advantage. We will discuss different shaped cylinders, what looks and feels pleasing vs what feels pulled down or bottom heavy. We will also take a dive into shaping rims that feel pleasant to drink out of, and trimming intentional feet on our work... or not! Jordan will read passages and provide exercises from A Potter's Workbook by Clary Illian to take new skills, big and small, into your practice. This class is designed for anyone who has already taken at least one pottery class and is looking to practice and expand their skills. Students should be able to properly center clay before taking this class.
