Membership

Membership at Wheelhouse is for potters seeking studio space in a community setting. All skill levels are welcome, but members must be self-sufficient and able to work independently. Studio etiquette is a must. We strongly recommend taking a class with us before applying to be a member. At capacity, we have 40 members in our 1,400 square foot space with 11 wheels. We require a 3-month minimum commitment. 

Cost: $225 per month

Inclusions:

  • Access to the studio 6am-11pm, 7 days per week, except when class is in session*

  • Use of wheels, slab roller, and glazes

  • Allotment of recycled clay per month (approximately 25 lbs) with option to purchase additional clay

  • Designated shelf to store work (approximately 18” wide x 36” long x 18” tall)

  • Designated cubby to store tools

  • Key fob to the studio

  • Glazes and firings included. No firing fees! All pieces are reduction fired to cone 10 by Wheelhouse staff. Members may not use the pug mill or the kilns on their own.

  • Members-only events and workshops

Exclusions:

Wheelhouse is a community pottery studio. We are not a clay distribution center nor a firing service. Members are not permitted take their work home or bring in outside work to the studio. NO outside clay or glazes (underglaze excepted). NO exceptions. Violation of this policy will result in immediate termination of membership without refund. The membership program isn't meant for people who have home studios. Rather, our vision for the membership program is to have artists working in the studio, cultivating creativity and community.
